French Agency for Development calls for project proposals: « Boosting the Potential of the Blue Economy: Conservation of the Sri Lankan Shoreline, Beaches and Waves » ! [fr]
The Blue Economy is a major source of jobs opportunities, food security and foreign currency in Sri Lanka. Its preservation is a social, economic and environmental challenge. Boosting its potential is a must.
The French Agency for Development is willing to finance a Civil Society Organisation to enhance the quality of the coastal environment and to contribute to developing the Sri Lankan Blue Economy potential. AFD has earmarked a maximum of EUR 3 million to fund one project.
Project proposals must be submitted electronically at the latest by 12 pm, Paris time, on 18th of July 2019. More details on AFD website.
The main objective of the « Boosting the Potential of the Blue Economy: Conservation of the Sri Lankan Shoreline, Beaches and Waves » project is to contribute to the preservation of coastal biodiversity and natural heritage, to preserve and encourage economic opportunities, and to reinforce social link.
This call for proposals is an echo to the Declaration of Intent that has been signed on May 17th, 2018 between France and Sri Lanka to reinforce bilateral cooperation and exchanges in the field of blue economy.
