It took place last evening and was hosted by the Vice-Chancellor Sarath Amunugama, Prof. Lakshman Senevirathna, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, and the Venerable Dr Meemure Gunananda Thero, Head of Department of Modern Languages.
Modern dance, French and Sinhala songs, theater (an adaptation of « the Chair » by Ionesco) and poetry were presented at the rendez-vous.

On this occasion, students from each of the four years of study received awards for their literary compositions, essays or poems , as were published in the journal «Miroir », whose annual appearance is as old as the French Club, within a Department of French, now in its 37th year.
These awards were presented jointly by the Vice-Chancellor and Head of the Department of Cultural Cooperation in the Embassy of France, who spoke there in three languages: French, English and Sinhala.
