LabCitoyen is back! Participate and win a trip to Paris

What is LabCitoyen 2019?
Designed by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Institut Français, in collaboration with La Maison des Cultures du Monde, LabCitoyen is an international youth forum that aims at promoting the French language as a tool for debate and action on the major issues of our time.

Young citizens from all over the world, winners of the LabCitoyen contest, will be invited to a 10 days trip in France and will participate to conferences, debates, cultural visits and workshops!

For this 8th edition, LabCitoyen will discuss “Women rights: Equality and citizenship”/“Droits des femmes : égalité et citoyenneté”, in recognition to the essential role of women and the need for improvement in terms of equality and citizenship all around the world.

- Step 1: Write down your thoughts on Women rights in relation with Equality and citizenship/Droits des femmes en relation avec l’égalité et la citoyenneté

Send your essay, along with the application form enclosed below, by April 8th, 2019, in Word format, to:

Some ideas for you to consider…
- Women and citizenship: political participation, reducing inequalities, empowerment of women, political representation...
- Women and equality: equality at work, access to education and knowledge.
- Women and human rights: fighting against harassment and violence against women, religions and women rights…

- Step 2: Five finalists will be invited to make a short oral presentation on 18th April 2019 at the Alliance Française de Kotte.

- Step 3: The winner of the competition will be invited by the Embassy of France and the Institut Français, with the support of La Maison des Cultures du Monde, to a 10 days all-expenses-paid trip to Paris from 30th June to 7th July 2019.

Who can participate?
- Sri Lankan or Maldivian citizen
- Between 20 and 26 year-old-people
- With good proficiency in French (B1 level)
- Interested in Human rights
(experience in associative/civic/humanitarian work is a plus)

Timeline :
- Applications : 08.04.2019
- Interviews : 18.04.2019
- Trip in Paris : 30.06.2019 to 07.07.2019
