New library, information & Campus France corner for the Alliance Française de Kotte

Jean-Marin Schuh, Ambassador of France to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, and Francis Cappe, Director of the Alliance Française de Kotte in Colombo inaugurated the new library & Campus France information corner during a festive and special evening to celebrate the launch of those new places of meeting and sharing.


The library has been entirely renovated and redesigned with a free reading space, and a corner specifically dedicated to kids. A book expert from France walked the guests through the expanded collection of books, magazines and DVDs available.


The new Campus France corner is dedicated to helping prospective students to find out more about studying in France, mobility and services offered to international students in France. Campus France is a French national agency for the promotion of higher education, international student services and student mobility in France.

The inauguration at 11, Keppetipola Mawatha, Colombo 5 have been followed by a convivial evening ’à la française’ with music, wine and crêpes by Ceylan Creperie.


The Alliance Française de Kotte is the ONLY OFFICIAL Alliance Française in Colombo, recognized by the Embassy of France and the global Fondation Alliance Française: click here.

The other place called “Alliance française” in Colombo doesn’t have any relationship with the Alliance française network, nor with French authorities or French system. They are not allowed to deliver official French diplomas, including and DELF and DALF.
