Police training Action in the fight against sexual tourism involving minors (17th to 21st November)


On 17 November 2014, the Ambassador of France HE Jean -Paul Monchau , accompanied by the Police attaché, Mr. Fabrice Grossir, has inaugurated the first action of French-Sri Lankan police cooperation on the specific topic of the fight against sex tourism involving minors.
Following the operational execution of an important French international rogatory commission in Sri Lanka last June, this training is new step in strengthening our bilateral cooperation on this type of crime.


Under the coordination of the Office of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Interior and the support of the Embassy of France , the course is led by two trained investigators from the " child victims " unit of the French judicial police (DCPJ /OCRVP) .
On the occasion of the opening ceremony , the representatives of the Sri Lankan Ministry of Child Development and Women’s Affairs and Ministry of Justice have thanked France to be the first country to engage with Sri Lanka in a such cooperation level .
