Mrs Helene Conway-Mouret, French Senator representing French citizens abroad and Vice-Chair of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Armed Forces Committee of the French Senate recently concluded a visit to Sri Lanka from 5 to 8 June 2018, on an invitation extended by the Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka Hon. Karu Jayasuriya, with whom she had a cordial meeting.
Mrs Conway-Mouret met with State minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs Dr. Harsha de Silva, Chief of Defense Staff Admiral Ravindra C. Wijegunaratne, Secretary of Ministry of Defense Kapila Waidyaratne and Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Prasad Kariyawasam, with whom she discussed the bilateral relations and regional issues in the Indian Ocean.
She also paid a courtesy call on the Mayor of the Colombo Municipal Council, Her Worship Rosy Senanayake and met with Women’s rights defenders.
Mrs Helene Conway-Mouret also visited the Alliance française de Kotte and the French School in Colombo, where she met with the teachers and kids.
